Only $7255 left to raise and the 'Peninsula Memorial Park" will be a reality!!! :-)

Another wonderful weekend with people near and far supporting our playground in a variety of ways! The ' Peninsula Memorial Park' is not just a playground or a park. It will be a place of honor and rememberance of those loved ones who are no longer with us, both war veterans and civilians. Our playground will be donated to the fallen veterans who onced called this Peninsula home. Those who served in WWI, WWII and the Korean War will have their names displayed on a storyboard in our park so that as children play they may also learn a little about our community history and perhaps their own families legacy. The park will not only allow our children to have a safe and beautiful place to interact with eachother but with people of all ages, thus creating a greater sense of community. As parents, teachers and adults we are always looking for ways to teach our children values and by displaying the names of loved ones throughout our park we are creating many wonderful oppourtunities to talk with our children about the heros from our very own community and who they may aspire to be like one day. Not only will our children beneifit from these lessons but everyone who visits the park will have remembered and reflected, if only for a moment. So you see, this is more than just a playground or more than just a park, it's our community legacy!

We will have in our park a 'Memory Wall' which will display the names of loved ones who have had a donation made in their honor. If you would like to donate something to be placed in our park or to make a donation in memory of someone please contact us.
