Gertie's Coldplates sold like Hotcakes!!!

WOW! Another super successful fundraiser, all thanks to Gertie's Galley @ The Salvage Bay Motel! Gertie, her crew and a few extra volunteers made over 600 coldplates on Sunday morning and delivered them all over the Peninsula to residents who just can't resist this delicious newfie dish!  For those who have made coldplates before, you can appreciate the time, sweat and tears that go into preparing, plating and delivering such a so-called 'simple' meal, not to mention the arm strength it takes to peel all those potatoes than mash 'em, stir 'em and scoop 'em! Suffice to say it's a lot of hard work so we would like to thank Gertie and her crew of workers who volunteered their time and came into work early to help get the job done! They include Margaret, Wanda, Angela, Lori and Roger. In addition, Andy, Robyn Squire, Geneiveve Squire, Kim Powell, Rex Ralph, Melaine Feltham, Mary Jane & Kent Oldford also volunteered their time to help out with this great fundraiser! Thanks to all of you for lending a hand, it was greatly appreciated. See? A little help goes such a long way!

At the end of day, Gertie's Galley and The Salvage Bay Motel generoulsy donated $2500.00 to our playground and park!!! This was an amaizng fundraiser thanks to Gertie, her crew, the volunteers and also everyone that purchased a coldplate in support of this great cause! This is what community is all about, everyone lending a helping hand and working toward a common goal, it really is a beautiful thing! :-) We can't thank you enough Gertie, the coldplates were delicious!
